Renting our Masjid for conducting a Nikah ceremony

When renting a mosque for conducting a Nikah ceremony, it is essential you abide by the following rules and guidelines to ensure the smooth and respectful use of the space:

  1. Identification and Labelling: When making the reservation, provide a copy of the identification for all parties involved, clearly labelled with their roles (e.g., bride, groom, witnesses etc.). This is essential for verifying the identities of those participating in the ceremony.
  2. Punctuality: Strictly adhere to the agreed-upon time for the Nikah ceremony. Arrive on time and conduct the ceremony within the allocated time slot to avoid inconveniencing others who may have reserved the space afterward.
  3. Furniture and Decor: Do not disturb the furniture and layout of the mosque. Ensure that all furniture is returned to its original position after the event. Avoid using nails, tapes, or adhesives that could damage the property or decor.
  4. Equipment Usage: Do not operate any of the mosque's equipment, such as microphones, speakers, boilers, radiators, or lighting systems, without prior permission from the mosque's management. If you require the use of any equipment, plan and adhere to guidelines for their use.
  5. Cleanliness: Ensure that the property is left in the same or better condition than it was found. Clean up any mess or decorations used during the ceremony and leave the mosque in a clean and orderly state.
  6. Noise Control: Be respectful of the neighbours and the peace of the community. Keep noise to a minimum during the ceremony and any related activities. Music is not allowed in the mosque.
  7. Parking: Park all cars in the mosque's parking lot. Ensure that your guests adhere to parking guidelines to avoid inconvenience to other mosque attendees or nearby residents.
  8. Respect for Religious Services: Be mindful of ongoing religious services or activities in the mosque. If there are concurrent prayers or events, maintain a respectful distance and avoid disrupting other congregants.
  9. Agreement and Deposit: Sign a rental agreement with the mosque that outlines these rules and any other terms and conditions. Pay any required deposits or fees in a timely manner.
